Behavior challenge is a defining feature of ASD. However, parents and caregivers often fail to recognize and intervene the behavioral problem at early stage, which may gradually worsen the challenging problems of the child. Addressing behavioral problems is difficult, but it is vital to help children to maximize their potential and leads to positive, life-long changes. In this course, Dr. David Fischer will explain why disruptive behavior is developed, and how to assess and resolve these challenging behaviors.

When addressing challenging behaviors, people often ask, “How can I get this behavior to stop?” While reducing these behaviors is crucial, it is equally important to consider what replacement behavior you will teach the child. Teaching a new replacement behavior is part of what we call a Proactive Procedure. In this video, Dr. David Fischer will outline key steps for effectively teaching replacement behaviors.

Reactive strategies are often the first approach people consider when developing behavior management plans. While these strategies can be quite effective, they are typically not sufficient on their own to fully address challenging behaviors. In this video, Dr. David Fischer will discuss some of the most common reactive strategies used in behavior management.
